Because the idea behind First Year Films is fairly unique, you've probably got a lot of questions about why you should consider a video shoot over photography, what the process is and, of course, how much it will all cost. Hopefully the links above can answer all of those questions for you.

First Year Films was created almost by accident. I have been a professional videographer for over 15 years, since graduating from the University of Salford's School of Media, Music and Performance. In 2016 I was in my sixth year as Head Videographer at Premier League Burnley Football Club. On a day off from work, at home with my little boy who was two at the time, I decided to get some fresh air and met my sister at the park - but crucially I took my professional camera with me.  While my little boy and his auntie played together, I got the camera out and filmed the two of them having fun.

When I got back to the editing suite, I realised I had captured something simply stunning and knew this was what I wanted to do. The footage perfectly captured the emotional bond, love and pure fun from that short playdate and so First Year Films was born (pardon the pun)!

Although I had the idea for First Year Films a little too late to capture my own son's journey in this style of video, I believe this is something every parent should have, and as beautiful as photographs are they simply don't capture the memories in the same way that videos do - although with First Year Films, you do get the best of both worlds - as our footage is shot in gorgeous Ultra HD 4K so we can also take exceptionally beautiful stills from your films.
